I am completely in awe of John Muir Laws website. He is an incredibly talented artist and art instructor. Have you seen his videos on YouTube? They are something else! And his website? It’s a beauty. Grab your sketch book and pencil and check it out.

I love burning candles in my home year round. There is something so comforting and inviting about the smell of a candle. Unfortunately, I went years without using any candles because the scent gave me a headache. You know, all the extra ingredients that we’re learning are so harmful to our health? Well, fast forward to the present day. Not long ago I discovered this Tahitian Vanilla candle on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised to find that it is made with all natural ingredients. Yeah, I know. There are LOTS of candles out there that are made with “all natural” ingredients, but quite honestly, I had yet to find one that actually left a scent in the air upon lighting it. The scent was always waaaay to faint to enjoy. This is why I absolutely looove the Tahitian Vanilla candle. The vanilla scent beats all! One candle fills the entire front half of my house with a delicious vanilla aroma which is perfect for the upcoming holidays and, well, year-round, if you ask me.

I’ve been revamping my menu because I’m so tired of eating the same things over and over again! Can you relate? (Please tell me I’m not the only one who struggles in the menu-making department.) Anyway, rice has become a staple in our house. There are just so many versatile ways to use it, including this recipe for risotto. If you try it out, let me know what you think. And, for goodness gracious, please send me one of your favorite recipes. I need all the help I can get.

I loved this article about listening and being heard. Whoa–it is so powerful to read about the experience from the husband’s perspective. It absolutely changed the way I see the people in my own life. I am now determined to zip my lip a little more and fine-tune the hearing of both my heart and my ears.

This! Our family is so excited about the prospect of having a Family Dinner Book Club. I mean, how fun is that! I’m in the process of putting together our Sweden activities/dinner and can’t wait to see how the kids react to all the fun and games and food. Oh, the memories we’ll be making. And, hey! Maybe we’ll even invite another family to join us. Watch for an upcoming blog post to hear more about this fun Swedish activity. Can’t wait to see what next month’s theme is!
