I was going to write an encouraging tidbit that inspired positive self-talk as we engage in trying new things and setting far-reaching goals, however; my daughter has managed to sum up my thoughts in a cute little story, so I’ll just hush up and let her do the inspiring:
Once upon a time there was a little girl named Claire. She didn’t know how to ride a bicycle. When her dad gave her a pink bicycle she was shocked!
“Dad, I love the bicycle, but I don’t know how to ride it,” she wailed.
“I’ll teach you,” he said. “If you say you can’t, then you can’t; if you say you can, then you can.”
“I can do it!” Claire told herself.
By the end of the week, she could ride her bicycle.
Having a vision or a dream, the courage to take the first step in the process, the determination and grit to continue forward, the confidence and gratitude to God that comes with success. These are the keys to a productive and happy life.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)
